REMOTE FOLDERS
 


Remote Folders - gives you the ability to organize documents and files, control access, share, and distribute them. RF uses the combination of your FTP server, Web server (or our own high performance server software), and a database to give the user an overall easier way to access information. Authors of documents can control who has read or write/revision access. Personal folders with exclusive access can be setup by an individual as they wish. Files/documents can be "checked out" for revision so that conflicts don't occur. The screens below illustrate the various features.

 

 


The Remote Folders package is $49.95 and includes the client software as well as both php and asp scripts to work with either a MySQL or Microsoft Access database. The high performance database server for Windows is available for $20. RF will work with any FTP server for file transfer.

 

Clicking one of the icons in the main screen above will give this next window showing the contents of the folder. There is a search feature of the content description that can focus the returned list of large folders.

 

Selecting one of the content articles results in this window. Here a title and description can describe the attached files or it could be just a stand-alone note. Associated files can be "attached" by drag-and-drop or Explorer selection. If User control is desired, the next screen will appear.

 

For any article the Read and Write permissions can be set. Simply check off the people you want.
